We’re building a talent pipeline with our ground-breaking Metropolitan Graduate programme

It’s official. We’re very excited to announce the launch of our inspiring new, first-of-its-kind Metropolitan Graduate Programme.
This programme is close to our hearts here at Metropolitan, where the growth of all our employees, at both a personal and work level, matters to us. We want all our employees to feel inspired, motivated, and engaged in meaningful work that’s aligned to their strengths so that their employment journey with us is memorable; and one where we’ve equipped our future leaders with the tools that will enable them to grow their career.
From more than 700 applicants, our 8 successful graduates were hand-selected by our Metropolitan Executives, who will mentor them throughout the 12-month programme. By tapping into the experience of their mentors, these graduates will have invaluable coaching, guidance, and work-based experience and opportunities as the programme has been designed to give our interns experience in all areas of the business and not just their chosen field.
Lyn Muzondo, Executive Head of Human Capital at Metropolitan, says the year-long graduate programme aims to develop young female talent to gain the skills and experience to prepare them for future leadership roles.
Lyn explains,
This is ground-breaking because it’s the first time we are bringing in 8 graduates, fresh from university, with not much work experience. We hope that this will be an exciting and meaningful journey that they will remember for the rest of their career.
The graduate programme not only enables the upliftment of these young women, but also addresses our business commitment to develop and nurture talent through an intentional focus on authentic transformation and ensuring we have an inclusive culture where everyone can succeed.
“We intend to grow our African female base at middle management and build a talent pipeline for the future so that we are not only contributing to Metropolitan’s growth, but also to the upliftment of women in our country. I’m therefore really excited and looking forward to supporting and walking this journey with our graduates, and I wish them all the best,” concludes Lyn.
At Metropolitan, we’re committed to education, development, and being part of our country’s success story by empowering young people to make their aspirations their reality. We believe that together, we can build a better future.
